Our impact and your journey to hope...
At West Midlands Men's Aid, we believe in the power of shared experiences and the strength found in community. Here, we present stories of courage, resilience, and hope from men who have journeyed with us towards better mental health and well-being. Their voices remind us that no one should carry the weight of life alone and that support is always within reach.
"When Marek first came to West Midlands Men's Aid, he felt like life had reached a point where there was nowhere left to turn. After moving to the UK from Poland, he faced a difficult period of uncertainty, isolation, and homelessness. Being away from his family, struggling with his mental health, and feeling unable to ask for help left him feeling alone and without hope. For a long time, Marek carried his struggles quietly. Like many men, he felt pressure to stay strong and believed he should be able to manage everything on his own. But reaching out for support became the first step towards changing his life. Through West Midlands Men's Aid, Marek found a safe place where he could talk openly without judgement. The Walk & Talk sessions helped him reconnect with people, rebuild his confidence, and realise that he was not alone in what he was experiencing. He received practical support, encouragement, and guidance to help him move forward, including support with accessing services."
Marek's story
"Miło było spędzić czas na świeżym powietrzu, porozmawiać z innymi uczestnikami i na chwilę oderwać się od codziennych spraw. Czułem/am się swobodnie i mile przyjęty/a. To było bardzo pozytywne doświadczenie i na pewno chętnie dołączę do kolejnego Walk & Talk

"Bardzo miło spędzony czas w gronie życzliwych ludzi. Walk & Talk to świetny pomysł na połączenie spaceru, rozmowy i dbania o dobre samopoczucie. Zdecydowanie polecam! "😊M@ti
On a serious note…
June is Men’s Mental Health Awareness Month, and this is a conversation that needs to be had more often. We are proud to have donated t-shirts to West Midlands Men’s Aid, an organisation doing incredible work to support men through difficult times. Following the heart-breaking reports over the past week of men losing their lives to mental health struggles, it’s a stark reminder that we need to do more. Too many men suffer in silence, feeling unable to talk about what they’re going through. As a woman-led business, we want to support charities like West Midlands Men’s Aid and help spread the message that it’s okay to talk, it’s okay to ask for help, and no one should have to face their struggles alone. To all the men reading this: you matter, you are valued, and there is always someone willing to listen. Let’s continue breaking the stigma and encouraging more conversations around men’s mental health.
"I am truly impressed by the fantastic work that Men's Aid is doing in the community. This 3 girls are incredibly supportive, encouraging, and dedicated to helping people who need it most. What stands out to me is their positive energy and genuine care for others. They create a welcoming environment where people feel listened to, valued, and motivated. It's inspiring to see the difference they make in people's lives, and I am grateful to have such a positive organisation supporting our community." 💙
